The Hamiltons of Dalserf.
Authority — House of Hamilton.
(233) David Hamilton, second son of Sir John Hamilton of Cadzow (No. 5), living
1476. He was probably father of: —
(234) John Hamilton of Dalserf, living 1461. The next was : —
(235) Robert Hamilton of Dalserf, who married Isobel, daughter of John
Hamilton of Orbiston, and had : —
(a) Robert (No. 236).
{b) James Hamilton.
ic) Patrick Hamilton, member of Assize 1555 {Criminal Trials').
Id) Archibald Hamilton.
[e) John Hamilton.
(236) Robert Hamilton of Dalserf, living 1590. He married Sarah, daughter
of Robert Brisbane of Bishoptoun, and had : —
(a) William (No. 237).
(6) Robert Hamilton of Nerston.
(c) James Hamilton, Dean of Glasgow.
(237) William Hamilton of Dalserf, died c. 1616. He was served heir to his
brother, Robert, 10th May 1600. He left two sons : —
(a) William (No. 238).
(b) Captain Robert Hamilton. His Will recorded 2nd July
1641 (Hamilton and Campsie).
(238) William Hamilton of Dalserf, died January 1658. Will recorded 10th
October 1661 (Hamilton and Campsie). He married Marion Cunningham,
and had : —
(239) William Hamilton of Dalserf, died s.p., and was succeeded by his eldest
sister : —
(240) MARGARET HAMILTON, who married Patrick Hamilton of Green. Their
eldest daughter married Archibald, fourth son of William Hamilton of
Wishaw (No 338.).
