THE HAMILTONS OF ABERCORN 27
Grove, Limerick, and had seventeen children, seven being sons. Of these
I can trace only three : —
(a) Gustavus (No. 64).
(b) Charles Hamilton, born 6th October 1750; died 1794.
Married, first, 1782, Anne, daughter of John Williams,
who died s.p. May 1785 ; and second, 1786, a daughter
of Christopher Lister.
(c) Richard Hamilton, born 1774.
(64) Gustavus, fifth Viscount Boyne, born 20th December 1749; died 29th
February 1816. He married, 1st April 1773, Martha, daughter of Sir
Quaile Somerville, Bt, who died 16th September 1826, leaving: —
(a) Gustavus (No. 65).
(b) Richard Somerville Hamilton, born 1st June 1778.
(65) Gustavus, sixth Viscount Boyne, born 12th April 1777; died 30th March
1855. He married, 4th August 1796, Harriet, daughter of Benjamin
Baugh of Burwarton House, Salop, who died 1st November 1854, leaving
an only surviving son : —
(66) Gustavus Frederick John James, seventh Viscount Boyne, born nth
May 1797; died 27th October 1872. He married, 9th September 1828,
Emma, daughter of Matthew Russell of Brancepeth Castle, Durham, and
when she succeeded to this property on the death of her brother in 1850,
he assumed the name and Arms of Russell in addition to his own. On
31st August 1866 he was created BARON BRANCEPETH in the Peerage
of the United Kingdom. He left an only son : —
(67) Gustavus Russell, eighth Viscount Boyne, born 28th May 1830; died
January 1908. He married, 2nd September 1858, Katharine Scott,
daughter of John, second Earl of Eldon. They had issue : —
(a) Gustavus Claud Russell - Hamilton, born 29th December
1861 ; died 9th February 1862.
(b) Gustavus William (No. 68).
(c) Frederick Gustavus Russell-Hamilton, born 12th June 1867.
Married, 27th April 1897, Margaret Scott, daughter of
John, third Earl of Eldon.
(d) Claud Eustace Russell- Hamilton, born 4th March 1871.
Married, nth April 1899, Maria, daughter of Sir
Lindsay Wood, Bt., and has : —
(1) Arthur Gustavus Lindsay Russell - Hamilton,
born 30th April 1900.
(e) Arthur Russell-Hamilton, born 8th September 1872. Married,
14th June 1905, Marion, daughter of Henry Harris of
Steventon, Whitchurch.
(/) Eustace Scott Russell-Hamilton, born 7th February 1878.
Married, 27th June 1906, Olive, daughter of F. A.
Wolryche-Whitmore of Dudmeston.
(g) Hubert Russell-Hamilton, born 13th February 1886; died
7th March 1886.
(68) Gustavus William, ninth Viscount Boyne, born nth January 1864.
Married, 4th October 1906, Margaret Lascelles, daughter of Henry, fifth
Earl of Harewood, and has : —
(a) Gustavus, born 18th October 1907.
