ward for yearly payment of ten merks Scots money for the ward
and the like sum of ten merks money foresaid for the marriage,
are now holden of me the said Marchioness and Countess in feu
farm, hy virtue of the Act of Parliament of the twentieth year of
his Majesty King George the Second, entituled, " An Act for
taking away the tenure of ward holdings in Scotland, and for
converting the same into feu and blench holdings." And the
said lands before and after mentioned of the Barony op Aedur-
ness and teind sheaves of the same, which were formerly held of
me, the said Marchioness and Countess, and my predecessors in
feu, with clauses de non alienaudo for payment of the feuduty
after mentioned and performances of the personal services of
hosting and attending me the said Marchioness and Countess, my
predecessors in all Parliaments to be held in Scotland, now of me,
my heirs and successors in simple feu by virtue of the Act of
Parliament of his Majesty, King George the First, entitled,
"An Act for more effectually securing the peace of the High-
lands of Scotland," and by virtue of the other Act of Parliament
above mentioned. And all and sundry the lands, milns, fishings,
teinds, and others above mentioned, are now holden of me the
said Marchioness and Countess, my heirs and successors, in feu
farm and heritage ; giving therefor yearly the said George Gran-
ville, Marquis of the County of Stafford and his foresaids, to me
the said Elizabeth Marchioness of Stafford and Countess of
Sutherland, and my heirs and successors, the feu farm duties and
others underwritten. To wit for the foresaid lands of Ribigill
and others before expressed, which were formerly held, taxed
ward, the sum of five shillings and four pennies Scots money, in
name of feu farm duty, and freeing me the said Marchioness and
Countess, and my heirs of the yearly duties and other debts of
feu farm money, if any such be payable or demandable by
any person forth of the foresaid lands of Ribigill, Sand-
wood, Island of Hoa, Aschourbeg, and Aschourmore, and also
freeing and relieving me, the said Marchioness and Countess, and
my heirs of all taxations imposed or to be imposed by our Sove-
reign Lord the King, on the foresaid lands, and that for all other
burden, exaction, demand, or secular service that may be exacted
or required forth of the lands, fishings, and others foresaid in any
manner of way. And for the foresaid fishings on the water of Garn-
