tra magnum sigillum nostrum appendi percepimus, &c. &c.
Apud Innerness 4» die mensis Novembris, 1499, et regni nostri
duodecimo.
After this date, the family of Mackay are generally styled of
Strathnaver, having been previously styled Mackays in Strath-
naver.
a.d. 1551.
The lands included in the said Charter of 1499, were forfeited
to the Crown on the illegitimacy of the children of Y Roy Mackay.
