2. None of the last mentioned class shall he chosen as long
as there are applications for admission on hehalf of either of the
other classes.
3. Whilst children belonging to the first and second classes
shall be received irrespective of their places of residence, those
of the third class must at the time of application be resident,
and have been resident for one year, within the City.
4. Printed Schedules or Petitions for Admission shall be
given out at the office of the Treasurer to the Hospital; and as
soon as these have been duly filled up they shall be returned to
the same office.
5. The Education and Schools Committee, or an Admission
Committee forming, or a Sub-Committee of their number, shall
hold meetings at such times as may be deemed necessary for the
examination of Petitions ; and when satisfied that the children
are eligible, the Convener or some member of the Committee
shall indicate on the Petition the School to which the child is
allocated, and shall add his initials to authenticate the same.
6. The Petitions so sanctioned shall be delivered to the
Treasurer, in order that he may forward the same to the Head
Masters of the respective Schools, who shall receive and enrol
them as vacancies occur in the School.
7. On every Petition for admission there shall be printed
the following Regulations, which are the conditions of admission
to the Schools : —
(1) No family receiving Parochial Eelief need apply, because
by Act of Parliament the children of all such are
required to be educated by the relieving parish.
'2) Children admitted into the School shall be allowed to
continue during the pleasure of the Governors, and while
they behave properly.
(3) Should any of the Boys or Girls be absent from School
without a proper cause, and without the Teacher's leave,
they shall for the first offence be admonished by the
Teacher ; for the second offence they shall be sent home
and the case reported to the Inspector, whose consent
