Note. — The Editor takes the liberty of stating, that (as far he
knows,) no person asked> gave a negative as to subscribing; the object
being merely to defray the expenscb of the publication, which has been
very easily and quickly attained, and for which he begs to offer his thanks.
He has not thought it fit to put down the names of many friends, with,
whom he could freely take that liberty, the case not requiring any such
measure. It is, indeed, a fact, that hardly one of his friends has had
the smallest hint from him, that such a publication was intended by
the Editor. More than nine-tenths of the Subscriptions were given
in to Mr. Treasurer, of the Teirace, Edinburgh, who will accept the
Editor's thanks, for the warm interest which the kiad cordiality of bifi
disposition induced him to take in the businesSt
