Steven Lesley married next Bessie Spens Daughter to
Spens of Boddams Relict of of Largie,
from whence came all these vast and great Trees that now are
at Warthle. This Gentleman Steven was much addicted to
the Sport of Fowling as the most of the House of Wardes
were, and it said That being sick on a Time there a strange
Bird in at the Window singing, and sat down at his Bed
notwithstanding there were many in the Room, and staying a
considerable Time he let one of his Feathers fall on the Bed
at her going away, which this Steven kept till he died, which
was at the Age of 90. He had these Children William, George,
Julia and Lesleys by his First Wife.

WILLIAM LESLEY eldest Son to Steven Lesley Laird of
Warthle succeeded to his Father.

GEORGE LESLEY Steven his Second Son married Isobel
Daughter to Sir John
the Priest at Oyne.

JULIA LESLEY his eldest Daughter married John Anderson
Son to William Anderson at Bonytoun. She died by a great
Grief conceived for her Husband's Sickness.

LESLEY 2^d Daughter married Andrew Edward
Son to William Edward in Old-Raine. She bare a Son
and 2 Daughters Edwards.

3. WILLIAM LESLEY eldest Son to Stephen Leslie of Warthle
succeeded to his Father. This Man by his own Industry and
his Father in Law his Counsel conquessed the Heritable Right
of the other Half of the Lands of Warthle, which before he
had only in Wodset. Also he acquired Little Folla and
which last he wodset to John Gray his Son in Law for
his Wife's Portion this William Lesley's Daughter and for
other Causes. This William married Margaret Gray Daughter
to Gilbert¹ Gray of Tullo. She bare Three Sons, Duncan,
James, William, and Two Daughters, Margaret and Beatrix
Lesleys. This William died at the Age of 80 or above.

DUNCAN LESLEY eldest Son to William Lesley of Warthle
died unmarried before his Father.
