MOUNTAINEERING
(a) To stimulate an interest in mountaineering in the Army
and provide for the training of initiates.
(b) To provide a link between active mountaineers.
(c) To organise yearly, for full members, a summer meet in the
Alps, and periodic expeditions to other mountain areas.
(d) To provide liaison between Corps and regimental Clubs
and with other mountaineering organisations.
3. Membership.
Ordinary membership is open to all officers and other ranks
who are serving or who have served in the Regular Army, Army
Emergency Reserve or Territorial Army. Full membership is
open to ordinary members when qualified by their climbing record.
4. Management.
(a) The affairs of the Association will be conducted by a General
Committee, an Executive Committee and overseas repre-
sentatives.
(b) The members of the General Committee shall be elected
at the Annual General Meeting and are eligible for re-
election.
(c) Vacancies on the General and Executive Committee of
the Association shall be filled " pro tem " by the General
Committee subject to confirmation at the first available
opportunity.
(d) The Executive Committee shall appoint overseas represen-
tatives but will keep the General Committee informed of
appointments made.
(e) At an authorised committee meeting three members shall
form a quorum.
5. Annual General Meeting.
The General meeting shall be held during the autumn. A duly
audited statement of accounts for the year ending 3oth September
shall be laid before the meeting by the Hon. Treasurer. At least
one month's notice should be given in writing for the Annual General
Meeting.
6. Extraordinary General Meetings.
(a) The Committee may call Extraordinary Meetings when
required. An Extraordinary General Meeting shall be
called by the Hon. Secretary on receiving a requisition to
that effect signed by not less than fifteen members of the
Association and specifying the object for which the Meeting
is called. The Meeting shall be held within three weeks
