Decision—If
this occurs in circumstances not within the control
of the player,
of
which circumstances, the Umpire is the sole judge,
a suspension may be allowed.
Case
2
—If, owing to an accident, a player is unable to continue
immediately, is there any limit to the time during which play may
be suspended ?
Decision
—No
allowance may be made for natural loss of physical
condition. Consideration may be given by the Umpire for acci-
dental loss of physical ability or condition.
Case 3—
During a doubles game, may one of the partners leave
the court while the ball is in play ?
Decision
—Yes,
so long as the Umpire is satisfied that play is
continuous within the meaning of the rules, and that there is no
conflict with Rules 33 and 34•
Case i—
In doubles, one player does not appear in time to play,
and his partner claims to be allowed to play single-handed against
the opposing players. May he do so ?
Decision
—No.
Rule 34
Case i—Is
it allowable in doubles for the Server's partner to
stand in a position that obstructs the view of the Receiver ?
Decision
—Yes.
The Server's partner may take any position on
his side of the net in or out of the court that he wishes.
HANDICAPPING

Regulation 32
Handicap Table. Where the system of handicapping by sixths
is used, handicaps shall be allotted on the basis of the following
tables.
No competitor shall be alloted a handicap of over owe 50 or more
than receive
40
and no competitor shall receive more than 30 from
any opponent, but when
a
player is debarred by this Regulation from
receiving his full handicap, his opponent shall give him, by wav of
owed odds, the additional points to which he is entitled up to a limit
of owe 5o. For this purpose two owed points shall be reckoned as
the equivalent of one received point. The odds to be owed in such
cases are set out in Part II.
