ARMY (WOMEN'S) CENTRAL SPORT COMMITTEE
HOCKEY
1. Army Team
Selection Committee for Army (Women's) Hockey XIs
Army (Women's) XIs for Inter-Service hockey matches will nor-
mally be selected by two outside selectors who may be assisted by
(a)
ist XI captain.
(b)
President of the Army (Women's) Hockey Association.
(c) Secretary of the Army (Women's) Hockey Association.
2. Command Hockey Festival
(a) Time
A Command Hockey Festival is held annually, normally in
the autumn.
(b) Entries
Each Command may enter one team. Subject to the agree-
ment of a Committee Meeting of the Army (Women's)
Hockey Association this rule may be varied : for example
two Commands who are unable to enter teams on their own
may enter a combined team.
(c)
Travelling Expenses, Accommodation, Meals and Kit
Commands are responsible for their teams travelling ex-
penses, accommodation, meals, and kit (including balls).
(d) Umpires and Grounds
The Secretary of the Army (Women's) Hockey Association
is responsible for providing umpires and grounds.
CONDITIONS AND RULES FOR THE INTER-UNIT LAWN
TENNIS COMPETITION
1. General
(a) A Unit may enter any number of couples to play as individual
couples. The winning two couples in each Command (these need
not necessarily be from the same unit, but the partners must) will
go forward to the Army Finals.
(b)
A player having once played in a match in this Tournament
may not change her partner. If a member of one of the winning
couples falls out, the couple placed 3rd may be substituted.
(c) The Cup will be presented to the Unit to which the winning
couples belong.
2. Command Stage of Competition
(a) Each Command will run its own competition as a ONE day
American Tournament.
(b)
Details as to the actual organisation of the tournament are left
to the discretion of each Command according to availability of courts
and time etc.
