fire order to each man. No man may fire at more than one target
and the second target will not be engaged until the first has been hit
or three rounds fired at it. Similarly the third target will not be
engaged until the second has been hit or three rounds fired.
No man will fire without a separate fire order from the patrol
leader. After firing, each man will ease springs, and the patrol leader
will satisfy himself that there are no live rounds in breech or maga-
zine. Reserve ammunition will be available at the firing point to
replace misfires, and a time allowance for misfires will be made by
the F.P.O. If a bolt is frozen up or a rifle so damaged as to be
incapable of being fired, a serviceable rifle may be borrowed from
another member of the patrol at the discretion of the F.P.O., and a
two-minute penalty incurred.
(i) Hits will qualify for a deduction from the total running time of
the patrol as follows :—
A hit with the first shot

apply equally to the Team Patrol Race.
(k) The patrol's running time will be recorded from the first
man's start to the last man's finish. In the case of an accident to
one member of the patrol, the remainder will finish the race, reporting
the location of the accident at the next control. Times will be taken
in case other patrols have similar accidents, but all patrols finishing
complete will rank before teams finishing a man short.
Protests
to.
(a) Protests against a competitor's qualifications must be made
in writing to the Referee before the start of the race concerned.
(b) Protests against a competitor's or official's action must be
made to the Referee at the finish or elsewhere within two hours of
the end of the race.

(a) The Team Championships will be decided on the total of
places gained in each of the four events, including only those
teams which compete all events. In the case of a tie the teams
concerned will be placed in the order in which they finished in
the Patrol Race.
(b) In the case of a draw the winning team in the Patrol Race
will be deemed the Champion Unit. In the case of a further
draw the results in the Downhill and Slalom will be taken as the
deciding factor.
Allocation of Points for the Best All-Rounder Trophy

(a) Points will be allotted to each individual according to
the total of his places gained in the four races :
Cross-country, Downhill, Slalom and Individual Patrol..
(b) In the case of a draw, the competitor who has the fastest time
in the Cross-country will be deemed the Best All-Rounder.
If a draw still exists, the fastest time in the Downhill and then
the Slalom will be the deciding factor.
