DESCRIPTION OF AND REGULATIONS FOR THE AWARD
OF A.L.T.A. COLOURS AND BADGES
I.
The colours shall consist of military red and blue separated by
a white line, the whole on a green ground. -
z. The badge shall consist of a Mural Crown above two crossed
racquets, under which is the date of the year or years for which the
badge is awarded, together with the letters A.L.T.A., the whole in
gold on a green ground. The badge will be worn on the pocket of
the authorised green blazer by players, who are entitled under the
provisions of para.
3(a)
below to wear the badge. The badge is
illustrated on the plate facing P.

(a)
Colours, Badges and Blazer
may be awarded to such players
as shall have been nominated, including reserves, to represent the
Army in the Inter-Services Championship, provided that they
accept such nominations and are ready to play when called upon,
unless prevented by illness or other unavoidable causes.
(b) A.L.T.A.
tie.
In addition to those who have been awarded
their colours under the provisions of para.
3(a)
above, the Committee
may grant permission to wear the A.L.T.A. tie to any player who has
represented the Army in a number of representative matches. At the
end of each season the Committee shall review the list of all players
who have taken part in representative matches and will instruct the
Hon. Secretary to inform those selected that they have been granted
permission to wear the tie.
4. The Committee reserve the right to award or withhold colours
etc. subject to such procedure as they may adopt from time to time,
and their decision shall be final. No player may wear the colours,
badge or blazer until he has received official notification from the
Committee that he may do so.
5.
Small badges for pull-overs will be presented by the Army
Lawn Tennis Association, but colours, blazers and pocket badges
must be purchased by the players concerned.
6. Colours etc. can be obtained from Messrs. John Jones & Co.
(Messrs. Foster), Bruton St., W.
I.,
who only are authorised to
supply pocket badges, ties, scarves and sweaters of the approved
pattern.
7. The Hon. Secretary will ensure that Messrs. John Jones & Co.
have an up-to-date list of those entitled to wear colours, badges and
the A.L.T.A.
tie.
