ATHLETICS 101
B.—ARMY INDIVIDUAL ATHLETIC CHAMPIONSHIPS
1. Date
The Individual Athletic Championships will be held annually in
Aldershot approximately
14
days before the A.A.A. Championships.
2. Events
(a) Men.

oo yards, 22o yards, 440 yards, 88o yards, One Mile,
Three Miles, 120 yards Hurdles, 440 yards Hurdles, Two
Miles Steeplechase, High Jump, Long Jump, Pole Vault,
Hop, Step and Jump, Putting the Weight, Throwing the
Javelin, Throwing the Hammer, Throwing the Discus.
(b) Women. ioo
yards, 220 yards, High Jump, Long Jump,
Javelin, 8o metres Hurdles.
(c) There will also be events open to Enlisted Boys and T.A.
Particulars of these events will be published in the conditions of
the Championships each year.
3. Entrance Fees
Five shillings per individual entry for each event.
The holder of the previous year will receive a free entry.
4. Entries
Entries will be made on the official form (see specimen on page
103)
obtainable from Command Sports Boards. Completed forms,
which will include a certificate that the Athlete has obtained the
qualifying performance required during the current year, will be
forwarded by these Sports Boards to reach the Hon. Secretary of
the Association at least fourteen days before the date of the
Meeting, accompanied by entrance fees.
Qualifying performances for entry are notified to Commands
each year.
5. Prizes
Winner Challenge Cup and iin. Silver Medal.

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd-in each event will also receive an Army
Athletic Badge and/or Date Bar.
6. Standard Medals
Competitors will be awarded a Standard Medal for doing
Standard Time or under or Standard Distance.
Standard Medals shall only be given for a performance at the
Individual Athletic Championship._
A Standard Medal shall not be given to a competitor who gains
a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place.
No individual shall be given more than one Standard Medal in
any year.
