ATHLETICS AND CROSS-COUNTRY.
C.—INTER-UNIT TEAM ATHLETIC CHAMPIONSHIP.
(i) Events.
(a) Events:-440, 880 Yards, One Mile, Two Miles, 480
Yards Hurdle (Relays), One Mile and Three Miles
(Teams).
(b) High Jump, Long Jump,, Putting the Weight, Pole
Jump, Throwing the Javelin, Throwing the Discus and
Throwing the Hammer.
1. The Inter-Unit Challenge Shield and Bissett Cup shall be
competed for at the Annual Athletic Championship Meeting.
2. The definition of a Unit is that laid down in " Games and
Sports in the Army."
3. The Shield will be awarded to the Unit scoring the greatest
number of points in the Unit Team Championship events and the
Cup to the second place.
4. Points will be awarded as under for each Championship
event. If eight teams are entered :—
(a) Track Events (including 120 Yards Hurdles)—
The winning team in each event will score 16 points.
2nd will score 14 points.
3rd will score 12 points.
4th will score 10 points.
5th will score 8 points.
6th will score 6 points.
7th will score 4 points.
8th will score

(b) Field Events—
The winning team

5th will score
6th will score
7th will score

in each event will score 8 points.

The unit with the highest number of points in the fourteen
events will become the holder of the Unit Team Championship
Shield.
In the event of a tie, the Shield will be held jointly.
5. Prizes.—
lst Prize: The Shield to be held by the winning Unit for
one year. A replica of the Shield will be given to the winning
team.
Each member of the winning team will be given a silver
memento.
2nd Prize: The Bissett Cup to be held for one year.
(11). Composition of Teams.
(a) 4 Competitors for each event.
