| Description | A brigadier general points to the location on the battlefield where he was wounded. In his right hand he is holding a pair of binoculars. He points for the benefit of the Belgian general, standing on his left. A man on his right also looks to the point in the distance. The King of Belgium, Albert I (1875-1934) does not appear in this particular photograph, despite being mentioned in the caption. Whilst many of the images were deliberately taken as propaganda, some, like this, simply document the everyday experience of war. [Original reads: 'KING OF THE BELGIANS VISITS THE WESTERN FRONT.
