| Description | Three dead German soldiers outside their 'pill-box' near Zonnebeke. Driven mad by the terrible British drum fire, these Boches tried to escape from their 'pill box.' They were caught by our barrage. At first glance it is difficult to distinguish the three bodies from the debris surrounding them. There are a number of weapons scattered on the ground. [Original reads: 'OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN ON THE BRITISH FRONT IN FRANCE. BATTLE OF MENIN ROAD. Driven mad by the terrible British drum fire, these Boches tried to escape from their "pill box".
