| Description | King George V (second from the right) conversing with a man holding a notepad. There are two further men standing beside them - all are in uniform. According to the original caption, the man talking to the King is a war correspondent. The identity of the correspondent is not known. As with official photographers, heavy restrictions were placed on journalists by the Government and Military throughout the war. To report from the Western Front, correspondents had to work under tight controls and accept Government censorship of their work.
