| Description | This shows a ruined stone fort with two round towers at either end of a curtain wall. There is an entrance with a pointed arch. This is the castle of Peronne built in the late twelfth century. It originally had four towers, one directly right of the door was destroyed in 1916 and can be seen here as a pile of rubble. The castle has been rebuilt since the war, but some of the later additions such as the conical roofs have been omitted, returning the building to its medieval appearance.
