| Description | The Prince of Siam standing next to a group of high ranking military officials. According to the photograph's original caption they are visiting a trench mortar school. They are standing next to a trench. The trench walls have been reinforced by wooden posts and corrugated iron. There is one soldier in full uniform standing in the trench. Scenes like this were commonly used as propaganda, intended to boost morale amongst the troops and provide reassurance to those at home.
