!• Draw a large labelled diagram of Amoeba. Describe how this animal performs
the activities characteristic of living organisms. How does it survive if its
habitat dries up ? (20)
2. Why is Hydra regarded as a very simple animal ? (4)
What functions are performed by the tentacles of Hydra ? Draw and label a
diagram to show the structure of one of these tentacles. How does their
structure enable them to carry out their functions ? (16)

birds of a specified habitat, e.g. seashore, town;
invertebrates of a garden;
pond insects;
animals of a rock pool.
Describe the appearance and habits, as observed by you during your field
