The ftalk is greatly branched, weak, jointed, and ■
floats in the water : the leaves are fetaccous, or
very narrow and grais-like, and grow out of the
joints, fubtended by a broad flieathing Jlipula :
the germina are a little rough, gibbous, and
grow four or fix in a whirl at the joints : the an-
thera is fupported by a long filament, and grows
by itfelf a little below the germina:
