Manuscript of Don Juan
DescriptionManuscript of Lord Byron’s ‘Don Juan’, 1819-1820. This manuscript contains cantos I, II and V of Byron’s epic poem which was published by John Murray between 1819 and 1821. The first canto is dated Venice September 16th 1818, the fifth canto is dated Ravenna, October 16th 1820. Originally intended as a neat copy for the printer the manuscript became a working copy as Byron made subsequent revisions and additions.
