THE SHELTER FROM CRUELTY
Is open at all times, and any child in need of protection may be brought by any per.son who believes it to be
aggrieved ; the only limit, arranged in order to prevent imposition, and to avoid placing the Directors in a false
position, is, that the consent of the child's parents has been obtained, or, thai the case has been braught xiivder tJit
notice of the Police. Upwards of 150 cases have already been received. The visits of Ladies and Gentlemen inter-
rested in poor children are cordially invited. The School Board and Police take frequent advantage of the Shelter.
The Stockbridge Day Nursery is open everj^ day except Sunday, ft-om 6 a.m. to S p.m., for the children
of mothers obliged to work out. Children of Two Months old and upwards are received, and well fed and cared
for.
The Homes receive motherless children fVom Twelve Montlis old and upwards, and others in urgent need of
protection.
Children's cast-off clothing, and pictures, toys, etc., thankfully received and acknowledged by D. E. Young,
Esq., if sent to Shelter, 150 High Street. Subscriptions received by the Secretary,
