Campsie Glen village is rather more than
a mile from Lennoxtown, and stands on the
low grounds at the foot of the Campsie glen,
which from its romantic scenery and water-
falls is a place of great resort "in summer ;
it has a station on the Glasgow and Aber-
foyle section of the North British railway.
Torrance village, in the parish of Camp-
sie, or, as it is generally called, the Tor-
rance of Campsie, is about 3£ miles south
from Lennoxtown, on the direct road to
Glasgow, and has a staton on the Kelvin
"Valley line of the North British railway.
The population, with Wester Balgrochan, in
1901 was 580.
Milton (or Milton of Campsie, as it is
generally called) is a small village 2 miles
east of Lennoxtown, in this parish. There
is a printwork in the neighbourhood. The
village has a station on the Glasgow and
Aberfoyle branch of the North British rail-
way. Population in 1901, 702.
