way, and about G south-west from Denny.

STIRLINGSHIRE.
BONNYBBIDGE is a modern town
of considerable importance, on the Bonny
water and the Firth and Clyde canal, and
has two railway stations, one belonging to
the Caledonian, the other to the Caledonian
and North British Companies jointly, and
within a radius of a mile are the High
station and Greenhill Junction station, also
on the Caledonian system. The village is
4 miles west from Falkirk, 9 south from
Stirling and 17 north-west from Glasgow.
Bonnybridge was formed into a quoad sacra
parish in 1878, from Denny, Dunipace and
Falkirk civil parishes. The foundry of
Smith and Wellstood Limited, on the banks
of the Forth and Clyde canal, is celebrated
for the manufacture of light and orna-
mental castings and American stoves ;
there are also Oswald and Hall's paper
mills, five brick works, two saw mills,
grain mills, chemical works and collieries.
The Established church is a plain stone
edifice, erected in 1878, and has about 600
sittings. In the village is a large public
hall. The population of the ecclesiastical
parish in 1901 was 4,264, and of the town.

BOTHKENNAB is a quoad sacra*-
parish in Falkirk and Grangemouth civil
parishes and in Falkirk small debt court-
district, and is about 2 miles long by an
equal breadth, bounded on the north by
the parish of Airth, on the west by the
parish of Larbert, on the south by the
parishes of Falkirk and Polmont, and
on the east by the river Forth. The-
church is about 2 miles north-west from
Grangemouth station on the Caledonian
and North British railways, and 3 north
from Falkirk. The parish is a rich and 1
fertile district, and there is abundance
of coal, which is worked to supply the
Carron Co. The Marquess of Zetland K.T.,
