Solicits the attention of Engineers and Proprietors of Steam Boilers to Braidwood's
SEDIMENT TRAP, an important invention which is self-acting-, and prevents all earthy
matter or sediment from depositing or forming incrustations in Boilers, thus effecting a great
saving in fuel and the tear and wear of Valves, Pistons, and Boilers. The Patent Trap
is simple in construction, not liable to get out of repair, can be fitted up without any stop-

Braidwood's IMPROVEMENTS IN FURNACES consists of a new arrangement of
the Grate Bars, causing quicker combustion and greater heat, forming no clinkers, and
effecting a great saving in fuel. May be seen in successful operation at Mr. Gilchiust's
Steam-Power Printing Office, 182, Trongate, Glasgow ; at Messrs. J. Dick & Co.'s,
Engineers, George Street, Paisley ; at the works of Messrs. Henry Monteith & Co. Glasgow ;
at the works of Messrs. Tod & M'Gregor, Engineers, Glasgow; at the works of Messrs,
J. & J. Macintosh, Wood Turners, Main Street, Gorbals, Glasgow ; at the works of Messrs.
A. P. Coubrough & Co., Calico Printers, Strathblane ; at tlie works of Messrs. Peter
M'Callum & Co., Calico Printers and Turkey Red Dyers, Ncthcrlee, near Glasgow; at the
