It is the object of the Edinburgh Institution to provide a thorough Education in Classics,
Mathematics, English, and Modern Languages. The Course of Instruction extends over Six Years, and
fits the Pupils for entering on a University Curriculum, for undergoing Examinations for the Public
Service, or for commencing ordinary business pursuits. The Parents and Guardians of the Pupili
have the option of either adopting the regnlar Courses of Study, or selecting the Classes that they may
think desirable.
