Keceives into his family a limited number of Young Gentlemen as boarders, who may either attend his
own School in Great Ring Street, or any of the Classical Institutions in town.
Canonmills House is a pleasantly situated suburban residence, surrounded by extensive grounds,
and within five minutes' walk of all the principal schools in the New Town.
The Private Studies of the Boarders are carefully superintended by Mr. Douglas and an
experienced Tutor— a Graduate of the University of Edinburgh.

Pupils are admitted into this Establishment at every stage of advancement, and are instructed, as their
prospects may require, in the various branches of an English,Classical or Mercantile Education, with Mathe-
matics, Natuial Philosophy, Drawing, Music, Gymnastics, &c. The well known salubrity of Bute renders it
peculiarly adapted as an educational residence ; and the locality of the Academy is one of the most beautiful
in the West of Scotland. The accommodation for Boarders is ample, and the Educational arrangements are
in every respect complete, an efficient staff of masters being always maintained.
Terms from 34 to 48 Guineas, according to age.
The Annual Session commences on the loth of August.
