_-HYNIE and ESSIE is a united parish in the district of Strath- small village called Lumsden, erected within the last thii-ty-fivo
bogie ; it comprehends a superflces of 30 square mUcs, bounded on years, and named after the proprietor. Fairs are held on the last

AucHiNDora, a parish with which Kearn has been incorporated,

anxiety for the improvement of the place. A fair is held on tho
third Wednesday in November. Population of the Quoad Sacra
is about 7 miles long and 5 broad, distant from Huntly 1"2 miles. Parish m 1871, 483.
A bluish coloured fibrous asbestos is found in great quantities in I Kekxethmont parish extends about 6 miles in length by 3 in
the lisBures of the rocks, which the sportsmen frequently use for breadth, and is about 8 miles south from Huntly. The parish is
wadding to their fowling-pieces. The parish also abounds with watered by several small streams, and the general soil is fruitful,
freestone. The only river of note is the Bogie. In this pariah is a Population of the parish in 1871, 1,U62.

twelve mornii g and two afternoon, and from Strathdon at twenty-five minutes past seven morning, and are despatched to the North and
South at eight morning and three afternoon, and to Strathdon at eleven morning. Double mail to Strathdon on Saturdays, arriving at
a quarter before six evening, and despatched thereto at half-past seven evening.
