MANUFACTURER of Evert Description of WOOLLEN CLOTHING,
SUITABLE FOR ALL CLIMATES.
From SOUTH AFRICA.
(EXTRACT.)
Two or three pairs of loose well-made Riding
Breeches of a material strong enough to withstand
the numerous varieties of thorns which everywhere
flourish so profusely in the interior — should he
taken.
Buckskin, although strong enough, is unbearable
in the hot weather — for lightness, combined with
strength, there is nothing to equal " KHARKEE."
This material deserves special recommendation, as
it will generally out-last two or three made of other
and perhaps more expensive materials.
From NORTH-WEST INDIA.
{EXTRACT.)
In the early morn beating the jungle for
" Chukore," much of the brushwood is composed
of a red-berried plant with a leaf-like box, and
bristling with very sharp thorns, rigid enough to
rend and penetrate anything.
In shooting scrub like this, or any stiff covert,
give me "FORSYTH'S SHIKAR," which by
experience I have found impervious to the stoutest
thorns, or the most aggressive spear grass.
