PUBLIC SEMINARIES.
The Public Seminaries were under the patronage of the Magis-
trates and Council till May 1829, when a new constitution was ob-
tained, by which they are to be henceforth under that of Twenty Di-
rectors, of whom ten are to be chosen by the Magistrates and Town
Council, and the other ten by the contributors to the New Buildings^
on the third Saturday of October annually.
