GLASGOW ANGUS AND MEARNS
BENEVOLENT SOCIETY.
Its object is to afford relief to natives of the counties,
their widows, and families resident in or near Glasgow
who have fallen into distress, and who, after enquiry,
are found to be deserving of assistance.
A contribution of £3 3s. constitutes life membership,
payable either at entry or in three annual instalments

Object: to supply warm and sufficient under-
clothing to indigent patients who are so far restored to
health as to be able to leave the hospital and return
to their own homes. The Society also helps to
supply artificial limbs and other surgical appliances
the expense of which places them beyond the reach
of the very poor.

For the education and maintenance of Indigent and
Industrious BHnd. 250 blind persons educated,
maintained, and employed. The blind manufacture
extensively baskets, brushes, bedding, mattresses,
wirework, door-mats, floor matting, &c.
The public are respectfully invited to visit the In-
stitution and see the blind at work.

at 8 p.m. in the Blacksmiths' Hall, 172 Buchanan

first twenty-six weeks, 7s. 6d. for next twenty-six
weeks, and 6s. per week during remainder of illness,
with doctor's attendance and medicine free. Further

GLASGOW BORDER COUNTIES
ASSOCIATION.
The objects of the association shall be — (1) The
cultivation of friendly intercourse among the mem-
bers ; (2) the relief of persons belonging to any one
of the counties of Roxburgh, Berwick, Selkirk, and
Peebles, residing in or passing through Glasgow
in indigent or distressed circumstances; (3) to
encourage, in so far as the funds are available for
the purpose, the cause of education in the counties
by the presentation of prizes, or otherwise.

MISSION COAST HOME, SALTCOATS.
The object of this Home is to afford a gratuitous
care and treatment hydropathically to the suffering
of any country or clime, and it is wholly supported by
voluntary contributions unsolicited. All communi-

field, Saltcoats.
BLACK'S BEQUEST FOR DOMESTIC
SERVANTS.
Founded by Dr. James Black, sometime surgeon in
Jamaica, afterwards residing in Glasgow, and who
died in 1834. The funds are to be given to faithful
domestic servants settled in Glasgow or neighbour-
hood, who have been ten years or upwards in one
situation. Preference is given to applicants above 60
years of age. Amount, £2 10s. per annum. There are
about 200 pensioners. Factors, Mitchells, Johnston,
