The object of this Society is to promote peace

GLASGOW CITY MISSION.
The object of this Society shall be to promote the
spiritual welfare of the poor of this city and its
neighbourhood, by employing persons of approved
piety, and otherwise properly qualified, to visit the
poor in their own houses for the purpose of religious
discourse, and to use other means of diffusing and
increasing among them a knowledge of evangelical
truth.
There are twenty-six missionaries employed.
