XX Official List.
SHBRIPP COURT.
The County is divided into Four Districts for Sheriff Court pur-
poses, each District having a resident Sheriff-Substitute and other
officials. The principal seat of the Court is at Inverness, and the
Registers of Deeds and Protests and Commissary Records are kept at
Inverness, The Districts are as follows : —
1. The Inverness District, comprising the Burgh of Inverness and
the following parishes of the County, viz.: — Inverness, Croy, Petty,
Ai'dersier, Cawdor, Daviot and Dunlichity, Moy and Dalarossie, Dores,
Boleskine and Abertarff, Urquhart and Glenmoriston, Kiltarlity, Kirk-
hill, Kilmorack, Urray, Cromdale and Inverallan, Duthil and Rothie-
murchus, Abernethy, Kingussie and Insh, Laggan, Alvie, and a portion
of the parish of Glenelg.
2. The Fort-William District, comprehending the Parishes of Kil-
mallie, Ardnamurchan, Kilmonivaig, Small Isles, and a portion of the
parish of Glenelg.
S. The Shye District, comprehending the whole of the Island of
Skye and the Island of Raasay
4. The Long Island District, comprehending the Parishes of North
Uist, South Uist, Barra, and Harris

Sheriff-Clerk — Andrew Macdonald.

The Ordinary and Debts Recovery and Commissary Courts are
held in the Court-House, Castle, Inverness, during Session every
Thursday, and the Small Debt Courts every Friday, at 10 a.m.
Small Debt Circuit Courts are also held at Grantown and King-
ussie on the following dates :— At Grantown for the Parishes of
Cromdale and Inverallan, and Abernethy, on the first Wednesday after
the 16th of January, and on the first Wednesday of May and the first
Wednesday of September, at noon— Summonses issued by D. Grant
and John Grant, Grantown, and at Inverness. At Kingussie for the
Parishes of Kingussie and Insh, Laggan, Alvie, and the ancient Parish
of Rothiemurchus, now united with Duthil, on the Tuesdays imme-
diately preceding the Grantown Courts, at noon — Summonses issued
by A. Macdougall, Caledonian Bank, Kingussie, and at Inverness.
