FIRE DEPARTMENT
Tlie progress made in the Fire Department of the Company has been very marked,
and is the result of the promptitude Avith which Claims for loss or damage by Fiie have
always been met.
The utmost Security is afforded to Insurers by the amjjle apilal and large Reserve
Fund, in addition to the annual Income from Premiums.
Insurances are granted at M> derate Rates upon almost every description of Property.
Seven Years' Policies are issued at a charge for Six Years only.
Rents Insured at the same rate of Premium as that charged for Buildings, Init must
have a separate Sum placed thereon.
Household Insurances. — As it is sometimes incouA'enient to specify in detail the
contents of dwelling-houses, and to value them separately for Insurance, the " LaLcashire"
grants Policies at an annual premium of 2s per cent., covering "Household Goods and
Property of every description " in one sum.
Ag-ricultural Produce, Farming- Stock (Live Stock excepted), Imple-
ments and Utensils of Husbandry, suliject to cuidition of average, 10s per cent.
Live Stock separately Insured without average at Ss per cent. Use ( f Steam Thrashing
iMachine allowed without extra charge. Animals killed by Lightning are paid for by this
Company if Insured against Fire.
Distilleries, Woollen Mills, Warehouses, Ships in Docks, and all
Mercantile Property lasured on favourable terms.
Short-period Policies are granted, and Policy and Stamii Duties paid by the Company.
Policies of other Companies Transferred free of expense.
LIFE DEPARTMENT
Indisputable World-wide Policies. No Restrictions. Moderate Rites. Iiiterim
Bonuses. Payment of Claims on proof of Death and Title. Two Independent Valuations
of Life Liabilities. Quotations of Life Rates to meet Special Contingencies. Immediate
provisioQ for i»ayment of Death Duties.

Liability under the Woikmen's Compensation
1880, and at Common Law. Evcy risk is
Insurances effected against Employers
Act, 1897, the Employers' Liability Act,
specially rated on its merits.
