FIRE DEPARTMENT.
The Financial Position of the Company in the Fire Department is almost unique, the Special Fire
Reserve Fund being £240,000, or two-and-a-half times the Annual Premiums. The claims paid amount
to £1,770,740. The Insurance of almost every description of property is undertaken. The Rates in
every case are fixed on the most moderate terms, according to the nature of the risk. The advantages
offered by the YORKSH I RE are unsurpassed by any other Company.
LIFE DEPARTMENT.
Combines every substantial advantage offered by any Assurance Company. The Rates of Premium, with
and without Profits, are moderate. The Reserves are made upon the most stringent Mortality Tables.
Four-fifths, or 80 per cent , of the Profits on the Participating Policies are divided amongst the Policy-
holders every Five Years. The accumulated Funds of the Company are over a Quarter of a Million in
excess of all liabilities. Applications for Agencies invited.

A N excellent Map of the City, printed in colours, showing the various
Parliamentary Divisions and Municipal Wards, can now be had on
application to the Editor of the Directory.
The Map has been prepared by Messrs. John Bartholomew & Co.,
