SCOTTISH CYCLISTS' UNION.
Founded 1889.

The objects of this union are — (1) To promote
and foster amateur cycling in Scotland ; (2) to pro-
mote the interests of cyclists, and to provide legal
assistance when deemed advisable ; (3) to look after
the condition of the highways, and to endeavour to
have them made and maintained in accordance with
the rules laid down by Macadam ; (4) to procure the
erection, legibility, and upkeep of milestonts and
finger-posts; (5) to erect danger boards where
deemed necessary ; (6) to watch the course of any
legislative proposals affecting cyclists, to take action
therein as may be considered necessary, and to co-
operate with other bodies for such purposes ; (7) to
endeavour to obtain reductions in the cost of transit
of cycles when accompanied by passengers ; (8) to
supervise cycle racing, repress any abuses connected
therewith, promote international contests, and en-
deavour to secure the construction of tracks consistent
with safety to riders.

POLOC CRICKET CLUB.
Ground — Shawholm, Pollok Policies.
This club was formed in 1879. The ground, a
portion of which is laid out for Lawn Tennis, is
beautifully situated within the Pollok Policies, and is
close to PoUokshaws Station. The present member-
ship is over 100. Annual subscription, £1 Is. ; lady
members 5s.

These baths, which are situated in Cranworth
Street, Billhead, near the Botanic Gardens, are lighted
throughout by electric light ; and the arrangements
generally are such as to make the establishment serve
as much as possible the purposes of a first-class club.

GLASGOW GOLF CLUB.
This club's course and club house are on the
lands of Blackhill, near Provanmill, and also at
Gailes, Irvine. Dr. Dougan, captain ; Will Carnegie,

RAMBLES BOUND GLASGOW CLUB.
The Club was instituted in 1869, in order to bring
together such as are in the habit of taking, and to
arrange, walking excursions to places of interest in
the neighbourhood of Glasgow. An annual meeting
of the Club is held in the month of January to
appoint office-bearers, &c. Gentlemen desirous of
admission to the Club must be proposed and seconded
by two members. The business of the Club is trans-
acted by a council of five members. Alex. Martin,

CREMATION SOCIETY (LIMITED).

This society has been formed to advocate cremation
as a more rational means of disposing of the dead
than ordinary earth burial. Cremation accompHshes
in an hour a process which otherwise occupies many
years. The Crematorium, Chapel, and relative offices,
within the Western Necropolis, Maryhill, Glasgow,
were opened on 27th November, 1895. The charge
for each cremation ranges from £2 2s. to £5 5s.,
according to circumstances. The directors will be
ready to consider cases where the relatives are quite
unable to make any payment. Up to the end oi
March, 1897, there have been 14 cremations repre-
senting all classes.
The Chapel and Crematorium is open daily (Sun-
days excepted) for inspection by visitors.
