GLASGOW AMATEUR ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY.

The object of the Society is to afford local amateurs
an opportunity of studying classical orchestral music.
Practisings are held weekly in St. Andrew's Halls
during the season (September till April),
The annual subscription of executant members is
£1 Is., and of honorary members 10s. 6d. and
upwards.
Ladies or gentlemen desirous of becoming executant
or honorary members are invited to communicate with
the secretary, Mr. W. A. Buchanan, 21 Cochrane st.
THE GLASGOW SOCIETY OF MUSICIANS.
This Society, started in 1884, has for its objects
the cultivation and promotion of musical art, as well
as social and friendly intercourse among musicians
and friends of music.

GLASGOW BALLAD CLUB.
Instituted 1876.

The club meets during the session (October to
May) in tha North British Station Hotel, George
Square, on the second Saturday of each month, at
eight o'clock p.m.
Object — The production and friendly criticism of
original ballads and poems, and the study of ballads
and ballad literature.

WELLCROFT BOWLING CLUB,
Queen's Pakk.
This club was established in January, 1835, and
the bowling green formed on part of the lands of
Wellcroft, situated in Sun-ey Street, Laurieston.
In 1851 the club removed and formed two beautiful
greens, with a curling pond, near the head of Eglinton
Street, on ground obtained from the Royal Incorpora-
tion of Hutcheson's Hospital. From this site the
club was in 1876 under the necessity of removing
to a more eligible site at the north-west comer of the
Queen's Park, where two spacious greens were
made, a neat and commodious bowl house erected,
and the ground tastefully laid out so as to form a
most agreeable and ornamental adjunct to the locality.
Membership limited to 200. Present membership
(April, 1897), 155. Annual subscription, £1 10s.

CLYDE CORINTHIAN YACHT CLUB.

with White St. George's Cross, and Red Lion Ram-
pant on Yellow Shield, and a Red Ensign."
The matches of the club are held at Hunter's
Quay.

The annual subscription is £1 Is. The yachts of
this club have the special privilege, by warrant from
the Lords of the Admiralty, of wearing the blue
ensign. The distinguishing flags of the club are
" Blue Burgee with Yellow Thistle on a Red Shield
bordered with Yellow, surmounted by Crown and
Blue Ensign."
The Annual Regattas and Matches of the club
take place at Rothesay, Wemyss Bay, and Helens-
burgh.
