RIVER AND HARBOUR RATES.
Eates to be charged for Pumping the Graving Dock
at Entry.
One Penny Farthing per Ton on each Vessel on
entering the Graving Dock.
The rates on all Vessels for use and pumping,
to be charged on the Gross Registered tonnage on
feaving the Dock.
The tide in which a Vessel shall enter the Graving
Dock shall be counted one tide ; and the tide in which
a Vessel shall leave the Graving Dock shall also be
counted one tide.
In the case of any Vessel on which repairs or alter-
ations requiring more than twenty- four tides are con-
sidered necessary, special arrangements may be made
Vefore entry or after inspection in Dock, but before
any repairs are commenced, for the use by such Vessel
of the Graving Dock for any period longer than i
twenty-four tides, upon payment of the following- [,

Vessels of 50 Tons and not exceeding 100 Tons —

Rates for Tramways.
i, — In respect of all Dung, Compost, all sorts of
Manure (including Guano and Artificial Man-
ures), Undressed Materials for the repair of public
roads or highways, Coal, Cnke, Culm, Charcoal,
Lime, Limestone, Cinders, Stones for Building,
Pitching and Paving, Bricks, Tiles, Slates, Clay,
Sand, Ironstone, Iron Ore, and Pig-iron, One
Penny per ton per mile or part of a mile.
And in respect of all other Articles of whatever
description (excepting single articles, the weiglit
of which, including the carriage, shall exceed four
tons), Twopence per ton per mile or part of
a mile.
2. — In respect of any single piece of Machinery, Tim- j
her, or stone, or other single Article, the weight |
of which, including the carriage, shall exceed four i
tons, but shall not exceed eight tons, Threepence I
per ton per mile or part of a mile. j
3. — In respect of any sinele piece of Slachinery, Tim- ■
ber, or Stone, or other single Article, the weight
of which, including the carriage, shall exceed eight
tons, such sum as the Trustees shall think fit.
4. — In respect of every Horse, Mule, Ass, or other
beast of draught or burden, and every Ox, Cow,
Bull, or Neat Cattle, Twopence per mile or part
of a mile.
I 5. — In respect of every Calf, Pig, Sheep, Lamb, or
I other small animal. One Pfenny per mile or part
I of a mile.
j 6. — In respect of ever.y Passenger, Twopence per
mile or part of a mile.
I Note. — In addition to the above, there will be made
j " a reasonable charge for loading and unloading such
; traffic, and for the delivery and collection thereof, and
! other service incidental to the business or duty of a
carrier when such services or any of them are or is
[ required to be performed by the Trustees."
Articles enumerated in Part 1, liable to Tramway
Rates, when., loaded into or discharged from Vessels
by the Caledonian Railway Company's Ci-anes at the
General Terminus Quay, or by the Trustees' own
Cranes, in respect that the use of the Tramways is
included in the charge made for Cranage, shall not
be subject to a further charge for Tollage.
Articles brought on to or taken from the Tram-
ways at Queen's Dock by Railway AVaggons, and
carted from said Waggons to Vessels or from Vessels
to Waggons, shall be charged at the Rate of One
Penny per ton only.
Teejsis for Storage of Wood. Goods.
I. All Wood Goods to be landed at such place or
places as shall be allowed by the Harbour blaster.
II. When space is required for Storage, application
to be made to the Superintendent, or person in
charge of the Yards, aiid the Wood Goods will be
stacked and piled in such manner and position as
directed by him, it being a first condition that Stacks
of each separate consignment shall not be of a less
average heiglit from the gi'ound than Fourteen feet,
and Piles not less than Eleven feet; and it will be
the duty of the Superintendent, or person in charge,
to see that this condition is fillfiUed.
III. Deals, Planks, Battens, Staves, and Lathwood
only shall be Stored in the enclosed yards at York-
hill, or at such other enclosed places on the Trustees
premises as they may from time to time appoint.
All Round and Square Timber shall be stored at
such other places on the Harbour and Docks as the
Harbour Master may point out.
IV. No Goods other than those which have been
immediately discharged from Vessels in the Harbour
or Docks to be Stored on any part of the Trustees'
premises.
V. On all Wood Goods stored as above, and not
under Cover provided by the Trustees, Rent will
begin to accrue from the last day of the month next
after that in which the Vessel whence it was dis-
charged was pkced in a discharging berth. There-
