ASYLUM FOR THE BLIND.

Central Warehouse, 82 and 84 Renfield Street.
For the education and maintenance of Indigent and
Industrious Blind- Nearly 250 blind persons educated,
maintained, and employed. The blind manufacture
extensively baskets, brushes, bedding, mattresses,
wirework, door-mats, floor matting, fire-wood, &c.
The public are respectfully invited to visit the In-
stitution and see the blind at work.

BLACK'S BEQUEST FOR DOMESTIC
SERVANTS.
Founded by Dr. James Black, sometime surgeon in
Jamaica, afterwards residing in Glasgow, and who
died in 1834. The funds are to be given to faithful
domestic servants settled in Glasgow or neighbour-
hood, who have been ten years or upwards in one
situation. Preference is given to applicants above 60
years of age. Amount, £2 10s. per annum. There are
about 200 pensioners. Factors, Mitchells, Johnston,
& Co., 160 West George Street.

are in need; and (2) the cultivation of_friend!y
intercourse between gentlemen connected with Stir-
lingshire, and the encouragement of education among
the^young of the town of Stirling more especially.
