mon Christianity, the exposure of Romanism and In-
fidelity, the instruction of Roman Catholics in Bible
truth, and the maintenance of the principles of the

THE BOYS' BRIGADE.
Head-Quarters office, 162 Buchanan Street ;

The object of the Brigade is the advance-
ment of Christ's Kingdom among Boys, and the pro-
motion of habits of reverence, discipline, self-respect,
and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness.
The Brigade was instituted in 1883, and is composed
of companies connected with churches, missions, and
other Christian organisations in various parts of
the United Kingdom.
THE GLASGOW BATTALION OF THE BOTs' BEIGADE
is composed of all the Glasgow companies, the officers
of vyhich constitute the Glasgow battalion council.
Glasgow battalion secretary, Jas. D. Roberton, Head-
Quarters office, 162 Buchanan Street. There are 92
companies in the Glasgow battalion (March, 1895),
with a membership of 320 officers and 4000 boys.
GLASGOW WORKING MEN'S AND WEST OF
SCOTLAND SABBATH PROTECTION AS-
SOCIATION.
The Association has for its object the maintenance
of the sanctity of the Sabbath, and its defence against
all encroachments of unnecessary labour. Robert
Mackintosh, general secretary. Religious Institution
Rooms, 200 Buchanan Street, Glasgow, to whom all
communications should be addressed.

The general objects of the Society are : to encourage
friendly association among those engaged in social
work in Glasgow, to promote sympathetic fellowship
between the â– well-to-do inhabitants and their poorer
fellow-citizens, and to improve the physical, moral,
and social condition of the latter. AU willing to
assist in advancing the above objects are eligible for
membership, and societies working on similar lines
are eligil>le for affiliation.
THE GLASGOW PROTESTANT LAYMEN'S
ASSOCIATION.
Instituted 1852.

The objects of the Association shall be : — To
combat and expose by every legitimate means the
pretensions and claims of the Papacy as opposed to
God's truth and the Civil and Religious Liberty of
Mankind ; to disseminate a knowledge of, and give
directions to, the all-important principles and interests
involved in the Protestant Reformation ; to expose
and counteract the insidious propagation of Infidelity
and other prevalent forms of Unscriptural Error ;
to foster among the members a vital Christianity;
and to engage in any work of Christian truth and
usefulness that may fall within the scope of the ;
general principles and objects of the Association,
The Association will seek to realise its various
objects by Public Meetings, Sermons, Lectures, Pub-
hcations, and Petitions, as well as by meetings of
the members for Devotional Exercises, the Reading
of Essays, or engaging in discussions, and by other
lawful means which the exigencies of the time may
demand.
THE WEST OF SCOTLAND PEACE AND
ARBITRATION SOCIETY.

The object of this Society is to promote peace
and goodwill among men by the recognition and
practice of the principles of peace and arbitration in
the settlement of international and industrial dis-
putes. All persons who are willing to join the
Society (which is supported by voluntary contribu-
tions) are invited to send in their names to the
secretary.
The secretary will also be glad to arrange fo'
lectures on the subject of peace and arbitration.
