don every Wednesday and Saturday morning, Is. not
exceeding K oz. paid or unpaid. For Countries on the
Continent of Europe, by Holland, 8d. not exceeding %
oz , which must be paid in advance. Letters for Hol-
land, if addressed by France, may be sent daily, paid to
Calais, 5d. not exceeding Yz oz,, or through France, lOd .
under )i oz.. Is. 3d. under Y oz., 2s, Id. under % oz.,
2s. 6d. under 1 oz., 3s. 9d. under 1 )i oz., and so on.

India, (East,) Closed Mailed are made up on the
7th and 24th of each month, unless they should happen
on a Sunday, and then the following day, and despatch-
ed by Marseilles, whence they are forwarded by British
Steam Boats. All paid Letters are sent by this route
unless otherwise addressed. Must be paid to Bombay,
Is. lOd. under ^ oz., 2s. 3d. under % 02., 4s. Id. un-
der % cz, 4s. 6d. under 1 oz, 7s. 9d. ander 1 M cz.
and so on. Mails for India are likewise forwarded by
Southampton on the mornings of the 3rd and 20th of
every month, unless they should happen on a Sunday,
then the previous evening; Is. not exceeding 3^ cz.
and so on. On Letters for places within the territory
of the East India Company, addressed " by Southamp-
ton," the payment is optional ; the postage on all other
letters addressed to India, as well as on all other letters
