„ 5th — Competition for Campbell-Bannerman's Cup between Stirling and
Dunfermline Bowling Clubs. Result disputed.
„ 14th — Mr Jacks, ex-M.P. for Stirlingshire, intimates his intention not to
offer himself for re-election.
„ 19th — Chairmen of Ward Committees express their views to the Town
Council on Municipal Buildings, Gasworks, and Electric Lighting
questions, and the Council resent their interference.
„ 20th — Explosion of Gas in a Draper's Shop in Murray Place.

„ 25th — Hugh M'Donald, a pensioner, residing in Lower Craigs, died in Royal

House the previous evening.

improvement of Irvine Place.
