GLASGOW ANGUS AND MEAENS
ASSOCIATION FOR THE RELIEF OF INCU-
EABLES FOE GLASGOW AND THE WEST
OF SCOTLAND.
Office— 68 Bath Street.
This association has for its objects the establishment
and maintenance of one or more hospitals for the relief of
persons in Glasgow and the West of Scotland labour-
ing under chronic and incurable diseases, and the
aiding of such persons in their own homes. The
association has an institution at Kirkintilloch, near
Glasgow, known as Broomhill Home, with accom-
modation for over 110 patients, and spends a large
sum monthly in assisting about 160 incurables in
their own houses. The whole affairs of the asso-
ciation are managed by a board of directors con-
sisting of twenty-one memhers, in addition to Miss
Beatrice Clugston, as promoter, and twenty-eight
ex officio members. Chairman of the Association,

GLASGOW MEDICAL MISSIONARY SOCIETY.
Objects of the society — 1. To carry on medical
mission work among the poor in Glasgow. 2. To
encourage a missionary spirit among medical students
in Glasgow. 3. To co-operate with kindred societies
in training and supporting medical missionaries.

Moncur St., Calton, is open for the sick poor every day,
between Hand 1 o'clock, except Wednesday and Satur-
day. Dispensary, 6 Oxford Street, S.S., is open every
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, between 12 and 1
o'clock. Every Sabbath day evangelistic meetings are
held in both dispensaries at half-pa-st two o'clock.
HAMILTON'S ANNUITY FUND.
Trustees— The Hon. the Lord Provost and the
two Senior Bailies of Glasgow, the Ministers of the
parishes of Govan and Gorbals, and the Chairman of
the Govan Combination Parochial Board, all for the
time being; and J. D. Kirkwood, during his life; T.
Smith, clerk, 14 Main Street, Gorbals. Under the Act
the trustees pay the sum of £2 per annum, to be given
in clothing as a prize to the successful competitor at
the Annual Ploughing Match in the parish of Cath-
cart; and annuities of £4 each to decayed natives and
residenters of forty years and upwards in the Barony
of Gorbals of Glasgow, such persons being not under
the age of sixty-five years. Said Annuities may,
nnder certain circumstances, be increased until the
same shall amount to £8.

BENEVOLENT SOCIETY. '
Its object is to afford temporary relief to natives
and widows of natives and their families who havci
fallen into distress, resident in or near Glasgow.
It has two bursaries at Glasgow University,
value £15 each yearly, tenable for four years, for the
arts classes, open to natives and sons of natives.
A contribution of £3 3s. constitutes membership,
payable either at entry or in three annual instalments
of £1 Is.

The leading objects of the company, as declared
by its charter, are to afford pecuniary aid to such of
its members and their widows as from sickness, in
firmity, or old age, may require assistance; and to
grant pensions, at the discretion of the directors, to
such members, or widows of members, as, from these
causes, are unable to support themselves.
SCOTTISH EPISCOPAL CHUECH.
The Diocesan Council of Glasgow and Galloway,
consisting of the Bishop, all the clergy instituted or
licensed in the diocese, the chancellor, auditor, and
registrar of the diocese, and a lay representative from
each incumbency and licensed mission elected by the
congregation, co-operates locally with the Eepre-

This society was instituted in 1785, and now
possesses a capital of £1992 odds. Its members,
who must be those connected by birth, parentage,
or marriage with one of the Upper Wards of Lanark
shire parishes, or have resided therein for ten years, ■ '
are entitled to 8s. per week when confined to bed';
5s. per week when unable to attend their employr
ment ; and 3s. per week when superannuated. After
being on the roll of memhers for seven years, these
amounts are increased to 10s. 6d., 7s., and 3s. 6d.
weekly, respectively ; and the money so bestowed last
year amounted to £180 8s. 8d. The entry-money
is 10s. 6d,, and the quarterly payments range from
2s. Id. at 15, to 2s. lO^d. at 40 years of age.
