The object of the Association is to promote the
religions, moral, and temporal welfare of young women.
Refreshment and reading rooms are open daily.
Educational classes and religious meetings are held.

Temporary Home for servants at 95 Renfield Street.
Similar meetings, classes, &c., are provided at the
Bridgeton Rooms of the Association, Landi-essy St.,
Bridgeton.

The objects of the Union are to encourage, unite
and increase Sabbath Schools in the City and Neigh-
bourhood ; and to improve the methods of conducting
them, by circulating information, and giving currency

SCOTTISH MISSION OF THE SEAMEN AND!
BOATMEN'S FRIEND SOCIETY.
Port-Dundas and St. Rollox Station.
To promote the social, moral, and religious welfare
of seamen and canal boatmen. The means employed
are — preaching the gospel in their Bethels and in the
open air ; the promotion of day, evening, and Sab-
bath schools ; the establishment of mothers' meetings,
penny banks, and temperance societies ; the circula-
tion of books, tracts, copies of the scriptures, and
general visitation. This society employs thirteen
missionaries, three day school teachers, and occupies
eight stations, and in connection therewith Sabbath
schools. Place of worship — Seaman's Hall, over col-i
lector's office, North Speirs Wharf, Port-Dundas.:

GLASGOW SEAMEN'S EVANGELISTIC
MISSION.
Bethel — 59 Morrison Street, s.s.
Object — The spiritual and social well-being of sea-
men and their families. The work is carried on by a
chaplain, assisted by fifty voluntary workers. Five
in-door and four open-air services are held weekly.
Bags well stocked with books and a New Testament
in each are put on board foreign-going vessels. Tract;
in English and in foreign languages are distributee
freely among the men. The ships and sailors' fami-
lies are visited regularly, and the men of the sea arc
influenced in every way for good. Other ports have
more than one such society, and the needs of Glasgow,
along with the great success which has followed the
efforts of this Mission, will abundantly justify its
esistence. The Seamen's Mission is dependent upor
voluntary contributions, which may be sent to th«
