This is a charitable society : — I. For the relief of
persons in reduced or destitute circumstances, but
not receiving parochial relief, in the order of prece-
dence following :—(!) Members of the society; (2)
the widows, sisters, brothers, or descendants of
members; (3) natives of Ayrshire resident in Glasgow.
II. For the education of children resident in Glasgow,
of existing or deceased members, or of children them-
selves natives or children of natives of Ayrshire; and
III. for assisting by bursaries young men wishing
to pursue their studies in the University of Glasgow,
who are either descendants of members, or natives
of Ayrshire, or sons of natives resident in Glasgow.
All persons may become members who are natives
of Ayrshire, or have an interest in the county by
property, business, or residence, or are connected
by marriage or relationship with members, or with
persons qualified to be members. Entry money,
£3 3s., and no further payment is required.

SCOTTISH EPISCOPAL CHURCH SOCIETY.
The Diocesan Association of Glasgow and Galloway,
consisting of the Bishop, Instituted Clergy, and Lay
Delegates from the various congregations, meets an-
nually after the Synod, in September. The society's
objects are — 1. To provide a fund for aged or infirm
clergymen, and general aid for congregations struggling
with pecuniary difficulties; 2. To assist candidates for
the ministry; 3. To provide schoolmasters, books, and
tracts for the poor ; 4. To assist diocesan libraries ;
5. To make up all clerical stipends to £150 a year.

HAMILTON'S ANNUITY FUND.
Trustees — The Hon. the Lord Provost and the
two Senior Bailies of Glasgow, the Ministers of the
parishes of Govan and Gorbals, and the Chairman of
the Govan Combination Parochial Board, all for the
time being ; and A. Walker, R. Couper, and J. D.
Kirkwood, during their respective lives ; T. Smith,
clerk, 1 Clyde Terrace. Under the Act the trustees
pay the sum of £2 per annum, to be given in clothing
as a prize to the successful competitor at the Annual
Ploughing Match in the parish of Cathcart; and
annuities of £4 each to decayed natives and resid-
enters of forty years and upwards, in the Barony of
Gorbals of Glasgow, such persons being not under
the age of sixty-five years. Said Annuities may,
under certain circumstances, be increased until the
same shall amount to £8.
LADIES' AUXILIARY TO THE GLASGOW
MISSION TO THE OUT-DOOR BLIND,
For visiting blind females, and throngli means of a
female teacher, teaching them knitting, and provid-
ing work for them. The work of the society is car-
ried on at a hall at 21 Little Hamilton Street (oft'
North Frederick Street), which is open daily, from 10
till 4, where all kinds of knitted work done by the-
blind are sold, and orders for work taken in. Mrs.

AGED WOMEN'S SOCIETY.
Lady Lumsden, president ; Mrs. M'Ewan, 11 Park
Terrace, vice-president; Mrs. E. Caird, the College,
treasurer ; Mrs. Pollock, 8 Albion Crescent, Dowan-
hill, secretary. This society has for its object the
relief of indigent females above 60 years of age.
Before receiving assistance they are visited at their
houses. Any person subscribing 20s., or 10s. for
two years, is entitled to recommend a pensioner.
Eighteen ladies act as visitors, who, with the ofiice-
bearers, meet the first Monday of every month, in
the Religious Institution Booms.

The leading objects of the compnny, as declared
by its charter, are to afford pecuniary aid to such of
its members and their widows as from sickness, in-
firmity, or old age, may require assistance; and to
grant pensions, at the discretion of the directors, to
such members, or widows of members, as, from these
causes, are unable to support themselves.
