the accuracy of the results, and I have f wether exanvined and approve of the application of the
Mathematical fm-nttdae, by which the values^of the different classes of Assurances have been
estimated.
The values of the Guarantee Policies have been obtained by the same methods as the
original Assurances, so as to reduce to their proper estimate the Reserves for the Actual risks'
in force. »
Assuming therefore that the Investments are first class, and have been so selected as to be
able always to realise the Amount at which they stood on Z\st December, 1868, the- surplus of
£26,609, ascertained on the principles above explained, to exist in the Life Fund on 2>\st
December, 1868, indicates a state of soundness and. prosperity, with every probability of its
continuing hereafter.

FiRE DEPARTMENT.
Iisswanees may he effected with the Queen Insurance Company on nearly every description
of Property, both at Home and Abroad. The rates of Premium vary according to the nature
of the risks, and will be found as moderate as those of other first-class offices.
Mercantile Insurances of every description undertaken at the usual rates.
Special Insurances embracing nearly all kinds of Manufactories and Mills, are accepted
by the Company and rated according to the circumstances of each particular case.
Household Furniture and Personal Property of every description insured in one sum,
at 2s. per cent, in first-class houses, or in separate items, at rate3 varying from Is. 6d. on Com-
mon Furniture, to 4s. 6a, on Pictures, &c, if preferred.
Commission allowed to Solicitors introducing business.
Transfer of Policies to the Queen may be effected without expense or trouble to the
Asssured
Prospectuses and every information may be obtained on application to any of the Company's
