TNSURANCE AGAINST LOSS BY FIRE of Property of every description.
jL MERCANTILE INSURANCES will be taken in all parts of the United Kingdom at rates propor-
tionate to the risk.
This Office Insures against loss or damage bj- Fire, Mills and Manufectories, and the Goods, Merchandise,
and Machinery therein.
Insurances against Fire are effected on Shipping and Craft in Harbour or in Navigable Rivers.
Insurances granted for shorter periods than One Year.
Insurances for Seven Years will be charged Premium and Duty for Six Years only.
This Company will now give the Public the full benefit of the Reduction in Duty on Fire Insurance. No
charge will be made for the Policy, whatever sum may be insured.
Actuary and Manager, W. P. PATTISON.
The Life Funds are entirely separate, and are invested in the names of Special Trustees. The balance
so invested on the 31st December, 1864, as a provision for the Life Policies, exceeded 80 per cent, of the
Premiums received from the commencement.
The progress of the Life Branch has been as follows ; —
Income, 1862, £5298
" 1863, £25,670
" 1864, £38,715
The total Life Claims for three years ending on the 1st May, 1865, have been under £5000.
The First Division of Profits will take place on th«^ 31»t December, 1867, and Policies effected this year
will participate.
