Tnr. uccess which has attended this Company is owing to its plan being adapted
to all classes, so as to allow every one to provide for those dependent upon him, by
means of Life Assurance, without incurring liability for annual payments, and with-
out abandoning during his lifetime, the command and control <^ the funds which hf,
is laying up.
Thus the field of business open to the Company is a very extensive one, for they
are enabled to issue Policies to Professional Men, Merchants, Shopkeepers, Manufac-
turers, Farmers, Tradesmen, Clerks, Mechanics, ^c. ; whilst on all fwmer plans.
Life Assurance has been confined to that limited number of persons who are pos-
sessed of fixed incomes, out of which tliey undertake to provide a certain premium
on a given day yearly, failing which they forfeit all that they have paid.
Among the leading advantages of this Company's plan the following may be
enumerated : —
1. A Large Assurance is rapidly accumulated for the benefit of Survivors, whilst
the Assured is free from all obligatory payments.
2. At the same time that an Assurance is effected for the protection of the Assurer's
family at his death, he creates a fund of provision available to himself durinci iii':

3. A perfectly new and highly favourable plan of Endowments for Children is
4. All payments to the Company are entirely optional.
5. The Assured has at all times the entire command of all tfie Cash he has depo-
sited ivith, the Company, in purchase of Assurances.
6. Payments to the Company may be left off for a time, or disc<ynilitned' altogether,
mithout any loss or disadvantage arising in respect of i''^iat has jtreviously been
paid in. , ■ - • ;,;
7. Any portion of the Cash paid in, or the whole of it, may be withdrawn by the
Assured, when he finds occasion for it ; or he has it in his power to Borrow a Sum .
against the Cash standing in his Account, without decreasing his Assurance.
8. A most convenient form of ready and advantageous investment for Large or
Small Sums is provided, as they may come into a party's hands.
9. Each person Assured has the nature and extent of his provision for the future _
left purposely free, and under his oivn control.
10. The facilities afforded by the Company are similar in practice to those of a
Bank; Sums are received at all times, and to such amounts as parties may find
convenient.
Forms of Proposal by parties desirous of opening Assurances, Tables of Rates,
and copies of the Company's detailed Pamphlets, with further illustrations, may be
had at the Offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, and at the Agencies.
