In terms, §fc., of the Constitution, the Directors, Ordinary and Extraordinary^ must
he members of the Society, by holding Policies of Insurance for Life with it of more
than three years' standing.
The Success which has attended this -lastitution has been so great that, at
The late Investigation
into its affairs, as at 31st December, 1846, the Directors were enabled to declare,
â– out of two-thirds of the surplus,
A Bonus of Two per Cent.
|)er annum during the last Seven Years, and a further addition during the next
Seven Years, on the Sum, in the Policy, and on the previous additions to these
Policies, which shall emerge before next Investigation, at 3lst December, 18S3, at
the same rate. A POLICY of Seven Years' duration is thus increased to £1140,
and if it emerges before the 31st December, 1853, the date of the next Investigation,
a further Annual Addition of £22 16s. will be paid for each year s existence of the
Policy. In the same manner a Policy of Five Years' duration is increased to £1100,
and will receive, if it emerge before 31st December, 1853, a further Annual Addi-
tion of £22. These additions are exigible on all Policies emerging after Five
Years' duration.
To Intending Assurers
the present position of the Society affords a most advantageous opportunity of con-
necting themselves with an Office, in joining which they can, with the greatest
confidence, rely on receiving the utmost benefits which can be realised from their
contributions.

foe obtained at the Office.
